EDN 514: Technology for Administrators

 

This course is designed to provide an understanding of effective school leadership for technology as outlined in the National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (International Society for Technology in Education, 2002). Specifically, students will understand:

Learning Goals:

  1. How to inspire a shared vision for technology integration and foster an environment and culture conducive to the realization of that vision.
  2. How to ensure that curricular design, instructional strategies, and learning environments integrate appropriate technologies to maximize learning and teaching.
  3. How to apply technology to enhance their professional practice and to increase their own productivity and that of others.
  4. How to ensure technology integration to support productive systems for learning and administration.
  5. How to use technology to plan and implement comprehensive systems of effective assessment and evaluation.
  6. The social, legal, and ethical issues related to technology.
  7. Develop initial components of their portfolio using TaskStream.
  8. Demonstrate principles of effective message design in the development of course assignments.
